Aqualand is a family owned business with locations in both Long Beach and Seal Beach. We offer year round surf and waterman camps during school breaks and summer, after-school enrichment and accept various home school learning funds.

Summer Surf Camp is a week-long camp for kids ages 8-17 located at Anderson Street/Surfside in Seal Beach, CA. It runs all summer. Surf camp is designed for kids who are looking to become safe and skillfully independent in the ocean. Because we surf in a pod and have a low teacher to student ratio, all abilities are welcome as long as campers can swim well in the ocean. For those who aren’t ready for the waves yet, we also have Alamitos Bay Camp for ages 6-15 in Long Beach.

Summer Bay camp is a week-long fun introduction to waterman skills in the safety of the Bay. Activities include: swimming, running, paddling, stand up paddling, canoeing, kayaking, Olympic handball, dodgeball, arts & crafts, surfing, boogie boarding. Campers must be water-safe.

My husband, Matty Mitchell leads the programs and has worked as a lifeguard and junior guard instructor for over 30 years. I’m Lesley and I help at camp as well as with bookings. Our 4 children also contribute to both locations and running the business. We are so grateful to live and work here in Long Beach!

Bay camp sign ups and information on all of our programs can be found at http://Aqualandofthefree.com  Registration for Surf camp is processed through the City of Seal Beach RecreationDepartment and you can find their link on our site as well. See you at Aqualand!
